Handmade, crocheted shortie soakers made of 100% brightly hand-painted wool. This is a terrific starter cover for the new parents! This stretchy wool makes this cover easy to put on, and will fit for many months during baby's fast growth. These bold Caribbean colors are so attractive and cute.
Wool is highly absorbent (holding up to 30% of its weight) and still allows for some breathing. This textured wool has more surface area than other wools, and therefore holds a greater amount of moisture. These can be worn over a prefold or fitted diaper, and are recommended for both day and night use.

These soakers have excellent stretch, yet will tighten up again with occasional hand washing. Since wool is a natural fiber, it has inherent anti-microbial properties and can be simply aired out in between changes. Some people go 2-3 weeks in between washing. Care of these garments includes hand washing in cool water after soiling, followed by laying flat to dry.
No commercial patterns are used at Mumtaz Creations, and all items are carefully hand-stitched (usually while nursing our own little one). Soakers can be lanolized free of charge before shipping, just make a note when you check out.
